The Citadelles & Mazenod editions, appreciated by amateurs for their beautiful books from the “The Art of Great Civilizations” collection, had the happy idea of republishing the work they had devoted in 2006 to the art of gardens in Europe. The current publication, paperback, reproduces the complete original volume, with its texts and its sumptuous illustrations – with the exception of the cover, where the Palladian bridge of Stourhead, in England, was replaced by the famous garden of Monet in Giverny. These are all exceptional gardens – English, French or Italian, but also Spanish, Portuguese or Russian – which are presented and analyzed with erudition in a work which continues to be a reference and which will undoubtedly give the reader the desire to discover them, between boxwood beds, caves and water mirrors.
